ADVANCED FALL & WINTER CLINICS
The OGSA is pleased to announce that we will once again be offering our Advanced Softball Clinics in both the Fall and Winter sessions for 2011/2012. These clinics are designed for House League players interested in maintaining their fitness levels throughout the off-season while also developing additional skills and the confidence to allow them to compete at a higher level. All players, regardless of initial skill level, are encouraged to attend the clinics.
Advance Clinics are progressive in nature with skill development building on itself throughout each week of the program. The six week Fall Session will focus mainly on core skills development (throwing, catching & hitting) as well as fitness (running & agility). The 12 week Winter Session will focus on specialized skills, game situations & simulations, knowledge enhancement and development of positive mental attitude (PMA). Clinics will be offered at the combined Mite/Squirt level and the Novice/Bantam level.
Clinics will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic School on Thursdays with the Fall Session beginning November 3, 2011.
Registration can be made individually for either of the two sessions, or can be combined for those interested in both sessions. Those registering for both sessions will receive a discounted price. For those not sure, register for the Fall Session and try it out.
Registration forms will be available at the November 3 clinic where payment for the Fall Session can be made. Please contact the VP of Select Mr. Mickey Trapnell at mickey.trapnell@hotmail.com and let him know of your interest beforehand.
The Registration form is also available in the IMPORTANT INFORMATION menu under Registration. Please complete the form and mail it with your payment to OGSA, 425 Cornwall Road, Oakville, Ont., L6J 7S8.
Clinics are run by a combination of certified coaches, volunteer trainers and peer mentors. The mission of the Advanced Clinics is to enhance physical development, through improved skills & fitness, with mental development, by promoting leadership & mental toughness while always maintaining an overriding emphasis on fair play.
